"Hello Adam, I apologise for not writing sooner, but I guess I wanted to ‘see’ if I had really stopped smoking… I needn’t have bothered.

Sounds a bit contrite, I know, but with good reason. I had tried every thing going to try and stop smoking — Cold Turkey, Patches (even smoked while wearing them), Gum, Periods of angst ridden abstinence — usually for about three months, then I would start secretly smoking again, eat copious amounts of Wrigley’s in the hope that my partner wouldn’t find out.

It wrecked me, I was full of remorse for having smoked again, and full of guilt as well.

I can recall how I stumbled across an advert for Adam in my local press.

Eventually, I went to the website and found the Stop Smoking bit, read through it and decided I’d have a crack at it. Two days later I downloaded the files to my PC, went and bought a pair of decent headphones. About a week later I decided enough was enough when I couldn’t even keep up with my child on his bicycle.
